Hammer & Tongue Cambridge featuring Ian Keteku and Brad Morden

We can hardly believe it – the Cambridge Hammer & Tongue 2010-2011 season is going to start with an epic bang!
This is your chance to become part of the spoken word slam brilliance that has graced this here fair city for a year, in the warm and wonderful surroundings of fabulous venue The Emperor. Sign up as one of the eight to compete for a place in the Regional Final, or just dive in and soak up the atmosphere and talent on display. And some great beer.
As an extra-special treat for you, we’ll be playing host to none other than International Slam Champion Ian Keteku, as part of his European tour.
Poet, musician, journalist… this Canadian performer also known as “Emcee E” refuses to be typical. He defines his poetry as ‘critical oratory’, feeling compelled to speak on the issues he feels are not thought about regularly. He loves to use his words to inspire messages of peace, action and critical thought. Ian feels that using his voice to speak for the voiceless is an honourable calling that can never stop.
He has performed all over Canada, West and East Africa, and now the UK, sharing the stage with a great range of fabulous names! Find out more at http://www.ianketeku.com
Supporting Ian is fellow Canadian Brad Morden. This folk musician/ poet is located in Ottawa, and most often spotted strolling the streets, ukulele close at hand.
